I’ve had the opportunity to direct for different educational venues throughout San Diego. One of the things that come with working in educational theater is wearing multiple hats at the same time. Many projects I’ve been attached to, I’ve also been the lighting designer, costume designer, choreographer and music director.

THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH (St. Augustine High)
Thornton Wilder’s weird and wonderful play was delicious to dive into and dissect.

TRAP (St. Augustine High)
“All the puzzle pieces fit perfectly together and made for a night that integrated the aspects you wish to see in theater” – CETA Judge Joshua Somers

SHE LOVES ME (St Augustine High School)
After working on so many contemporary “school shows”, it was so refreshing to dive into this well crafted musical comedy and to work on beautifully crafted acting songs such as “Will He Like Me?” and “A Trip To The Library”.

JUNIE B JONES (SDMT Academy)
When you thinks of JUNIE B JONES, you automatically think a stereotypical “kids” or “junior” show with little substance. My job was to ensure those assumptions did not happen. What made our production stand out among others was the use of nodding to different musicals as the score of this musical does from HELLO DOLLY, MUSIC MAN and CHICAGO.
LIGHTNING THIEF (St. Augustine High)
My job for this show was to ensure that the evening wasn’t two hours of high schoolers wincing and complaining about their parents. For example, in the song “Good Kid”, instead of the number being Percy’s “My Life Is The Worst Life Ever” song, I turned it into an operatic mad scene ending with Percy having a mental breakdown.
CLUE (St Augustine High)
Camp is not bad acting. Camp is taking emotions and situations so seriously, that in turn, it becomes ridiculous. And as we all know, no one ever paid to see UNDER acting! For this production, I added an introduction to each act using Kurt Weill’s dramatic music.
